Welcome to the Construction Contracts Co. We exist to get Australian subcontractors paid. What it all boils down to at the end of the day. I've watched it from the subbie side, the builder side, and as a director of the Construction Contracts Co. Over the last five years, seen 800 subbies get screwed down. And a lot of the time, it's, look, 50 % of the time, it's intentional.
The other 50 % unintentional, whether the builder means it or not. Here's the thing, whether it's a payment dispute, a variation, liquidated damages, project delays, whatever it is, there is an element of money tied to it that is being withheld from the subcontractor. I'm standing here, putting myself on the line, putting my business on the line to protect subbies Australia wide. Do I do it? Because I love this shit.
