Progress claim
A progress claim is a periodic claim for payment for work completed to date - and when prepared to engage security of payment legislation, it doubles as a statutory payment claim with a response clock the builder must respect.
A strong progress claim identifies the work, values it against the contract sum, attaches the substantiation the contract requires, and is served precisely as the notice clause demands. Claims fail on service and paperwork far more often than on the work itself.
Why it matters to subbies
Claim every period, on time, in the contract's format - a missed or sloppy claim is a free kick to the party holding the money.
